Hemodialysis
Hemodialysis
is a treatment that removes wastes and fluids from your blood; in
essence, hemodialysis cleans your blood. Your Nephrologist will
prescribe a treatment plan especially for you. Your blood is filtered
by an artificial kidney machine and dialyzer through an access or
entrance into your blood vessels.
Many patients will have hemodialysis treatments performed three
times per week with each treatment lasting about 3-4 hours. With
the proper amount of dialysis prescribed by your Nephrologist, your
overall health will improve and provide you with a longer and productive
life. |
